The cast of Wong Kar Wai's first English-language feature film has now been made official. It's been known for some months that Nora Jones is to star in the film, but Jude Law, Rachel Weisz and Natalie Portman have now also been confirmed by Studio Canal.

 

Information regarding the plot has also been released. The film will tell the romantic tale of a young woman traveling across the vast expanses of the United States of America, searching, as all of Wong's protagonists do, for the meaning of "love".

 

Pre-production will commence immediately after the Cannes Film Festival, where Wong is currently serving as the first ever Chinese president of the official jury.

 

The film is to be produced by Wong Kar Wai, Jean Louis Piel, Jacky Pang and Wang Wei.
