While local husbands are eagerly awaiting this evening's opening of the World Cup, many wives in Guangzhou are choosing to leave home during the month-long championship, Southern Metropolis News reported.

 

A local travel agency recently introduced special anti-World Cup tourist groups, which have attracted interest from many women who can't stand their husbands' obsession with the "beautiful game."

 

The major destinations of the special female tourist groups will include Guizhou, Sichuan, Yunnan and other provinces and regions in western and southwestern China.
