At present more and more Chinese females with high income or considerable wealth start to investigate their future husbands before wedding.
Similar to premarital investigations in western countries, well-paid professional women in China focus premarital investigations on their fiancés' morality and loyalty. Clients generally want to find out the true condition of future spouses through investigations, including family members, income, personal assets, morality, habits and even marital history. They hope that such investigations will help guarantee a happy marriage.
In China, marriage-related investigations generally target behaviors of a spouse after the wedding, some aiming to clarify the client's concern about his or her spouse's unusual behaviors, and some to collect evidences to protect their rights and interests in divorce lawsuits. Nonetheless, requests of premarital investigations on future spouses initiated by high-income professional women are relatively few in general, which also indicates that economically independent Chinese women are being awakened and have begun to take precautions to defend their own achievements and love in a unique way.
