Hong Kong players secured the women's singles gold and silver medals at the Asian Games badminton tournament on Friday.

Wang Chen beat world champion Xie Xingfang from China 21-17, 17-21, 21-16 in the semifinal. She will take on teammate Yip Pui Yin in the final.

Yi beat South Korean Hwang Hye Yeon 21-14, 21-19 in the other semifinal.
