Macao recorded four HIV infections in the second quarter, according to an official statement issued on Wednesday.
The statement released by the Health Bureau said the four cases were involved in four male infectors, among whom are two permanent residents and two temporary residents.
One of the infectors acquired the disease through homosexual contact and one is an intravenous drug user, said the statement.
It added that the cause of the other two infections is not clear due to "inadequate information."
The region, with a population of nearly 500,000, has recorded 350 HIV infections since 1986.
