The meeting of the executive chairmen of the presidium of the first session of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top advisory body, held its first session in Beijing Sunday afternoon.
The meeting, presided over by Jia Qinglin, chair of the executive chairmen meeting of the presidium, deliberated the draft procedures for election at the first session of the 10th CPPCC National Committee, the draft list of candidates for the chairman, vice-chairmen, secretary-general and executive members of the 10th CPPCC National Committee, the draft political resolution of the first session of the 10th CPPCC National Committee, and the draft resolution of the first session of the 10th CPPCC Nation Committee on the work report of the 9th CPPCC Standing Committee. The meeting decided to submit all drafts to the second meeting of the presidium of the first session of the 10th CPPCC National Committee for deliberation.
Zheng Wantong, secretary-general of the first session of the 10th CPPCC National Committee, and Liu Yandong, head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party Central Committee, explained the above drafts.
