A Politburo member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Sunday conveyed guidelines of the 16th CPC National Congress and the First Plenum of the 16th CPC Central Committee to leaders of democratic parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and personalities with no party affiliations.
Entrusted by the CPC Central Committee, Wang Zhaoguo, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and also vice-chairman of the Ninth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, told leaders of democratic parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce as well as non-party personages that the 16th CPC National Congress was a united, victorious and advancing-ahead meeting.
The congress, he noted, held high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping Theory and fully acted on the important thought of "Three Representatives", reviewed great achievements and basic experience scored since the Fourth Plenary Session of the 13th CPC Central Committee in 1989 and projected a grand objective to build a well-off society in an all-round way.
The meeting laid down the blueprint for China's future development, which was both significant to the growth of socialist economy, politics, culture and Party building with Chinese characteristics and to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, Wang said.
Meanwhile, he stressed that as close friends of the CPC, democratic parties were committed to the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics and, therefore, they shared common objectives with the CPC.
He called on democratic parties to carry out thorough study and implementation of the guidelines of the 16th CPC National Congress, which should be made "their primary political task".
The important thought of the "Three Representatives", Wang said, was not only a strong theoretical weapon of and long-term guiding thought for the CPC, but also a foundation for the Party's system of multi-party cooperation and political cooperation with various democratic parties.
