Wen Shizhen      

Wen Shizhen, a native of Haicheng, Liaoning Province, was born in 1940.

He graduated from the Dalian Engineering Institute, predecessor of present Dalian University of Technology.

In 1982, he served as deputy director of the Dalian Machine-Building Industry Bureau, was promoted to be deputy director of the Department of Machine-Building Industry of Liaoning Province in the following year, and, two years later, took up the post of assistant to the governor of Liaoning Province.

In early 1986, Wen was elected vice-governor of Liaoning Province, and was promoted to be a member of the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and executive vice-governor of Liaoning Province in 1992.

In 1994, he took up the posts of deputy secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee and acting governor of Liaoning, and was elected governor of Liaoning in 1995. Since 1997, he has been secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee.
