The State Environmental Protection Administration urged in a circular that the air quality in public places be well under control as the SARS is contained.
The public places include bus, air and shipping terminals, school big classrooms, canteens, public bath houses, department stores, hotels, libraries, exhibition halls, museums, fitness centers, gyms, swimming pools, cinemas and dancing halls.
The air quality of these public places has to be closely monitored in light of the standards for domestic air quality (GB/T18883 - 2002). Special attention at the present time may be paid to the indexes of air current, carbon dioxide, fine particulate matter, formaldehyde, ammonia, and benzene.
The results will be made known to the public place monitored and published in local major media and government Internet websites.
