Heavy Fog Shrouding Northern China
Adjust font size:

Heavy fog will continue to blanket northern and northeastern China on Tuesday, impacting local transport systems, the Chinese central meteorological station warned on Monday.

In its latest weather forecast update, the station said that heavy fog, which has severely affected roads and flights in north China's Shandong Province and northeast China's Liaoning Province, would not lift until Tuesday afternoon.

The municipalities of Beijing and Tianjin, Henan province and most parts of the provinces of Hebei, Hubei, Jiangsu and Anhui would be foggy.

The station also forecast drizzle, moderate rain and showers in most parts of southern China, the region to the south of the Yangtze River and southwestern China.

The weather will be wet in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the southern part of Hunan Province, the central and western parts of Jiangxi Province, Fujian and Guangdong Provinces. Rainstorms are possible in some regions.

The eastern parts of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the southern parts of Gansu Province, the highlands of western Sichuan and the eastern parts of Inner Mongolia will be snowy with sleet on Tuesday.

In the East China Sea and the northeast part of the South China Sea, winds will reach force six or seven.
