A national nature reserve covering more than 10,000 hectares was set up in east China's Fujian Province on Sunday.
The Daiyun Mountain National Nature Reserve, based on a provincial nature reserve established in 1985 in the eastern part of the province, is rich in natural resources.
Inhabited in the nature reserve are 115 species of plants either endangered or peculiar to the place and such rare animals as pangolin and zibet.
The nature reserve is also featured by a rare wetland at an altitude of 1,610 meters, where, despite low temperatures, various grasses are thriving and newts and other rare species are commonplace.
