This year's robust TV series trading market will provide domestic audiences more long-episode TV programs.
A total of 1,038 TV programs were traded at this year's Shanghai TV festival, which ends Friday, a slight drop from last year's but the number of episodes was 32,015, nearly doubling last year's 18,917.
More than 20 million yuan (US$2.62 million) of programs, screened by new types of media, including digital TV, IPTV and mobile phones, were traded in the festival.
More than 40 entries are competing for Magnolia Awards for the best TV drama, documentary or animated work at the 13th Shanghai TV Festival.
On the heels of the TV festival, the 10th Shanghai International Film Festival on June 16-24 will screen 16 movies from home and abroad, with a wide range of both subject matter and budgets.
