Former Miss Asia Alice Chan does not just look like Anita Mui. She actually plays Anita Mui in the new TV series Mei Yan Fang Fei.

Mei Yan Fang is the Chinese name for Hong Kong pop singer/actress Anita Mui, who passed away in 2003 at the age of 40. The TV series recounts her legendary life from when she was a little girl who performed in nightclubs to an international star. The biopic also touches on her rumored love affairs with fellow celebrities including Andy Lau.

On Sunday, the cast members met with the media in eastern China's Hangzhou city. Actress Alice Chan and He Gang -- who plays Andy Lau -- wowed reporters with their resemblance to the actual stars.

Some of the television stations airing the drama have already reported satisfactory audience ratings.
