Pirates III Passes Examination in China
Adjust font size:

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which includes Hong Kong film star Chow Yun-Fat in the cast, has successfully gone through film examination in China and is waiting for a general release this summer.

The film was brought in by the China Film Group Corporation in early April.

It has been ratified for general release in the Chinese mainland, after abridgement was done for several of its plots, requested by the State Administration of Film Radio and Television (SAFRT).

The movie will meet with the Chinese audience no sooner than June, since Spider-Man 3 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) has taken up the schedule of May.

Previously the image of Chow Yun-Fat in the film has been under criticism. The Hong Kong star played cunning baldheaded Chinese Pirate Sao Feng in the film.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. The first flick, The Curse of the Black Pearl, was introduced into Chinese movie theaters in 2003.

The second, Dead Man's Chest, missed the chance of meeting its Chinese fans on the big screen for reportedly too many horrific figures and plots.
