Taiwan entertainer Hsiao Shushen has finally admitted she did take drugs, but not voluntarily.
The star is one of the nine entertainers in Taiwan allegedly involved in a high-profile substance abuse case. According to a report in the United Daily News earlier this month, she tested positive for cocaine and Ketamine. She was reportedly involved in the two illegal substances for at least eight months.
However, the star had denied her involvement in drugs until recently.
Around Christmas Eve, she called her film agent, director Wang Yuya and confessed her drug-use. The star said she was unaware she was given the illegal drugs and was not an addict. She also promised to accept medical treatment in order to go back to filming.
She will be required to check into a rehabilitation clinic soon.
It was also reported that Hsiao will hold a press conference to apologize to the public in the coming days.
Nevertheless, the substance abuse case has already caused Hsiao to lose her lead role in director Wang Yuya's new film "One Kilometre." Her role was taken over by another promising actress, Cyndi Wong.
