World-class soprano Jessye Norman gave singing advice to students at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing on Monday.
Jessye Norman has just given her first concert in China, at the Shanghai Grand Stage last Thursday.
Ten students each sang a well-prepared opera aria piece in front of the famous soprano, hoping to receive some remarks from her.
The opera master told students to pay more attention to the sensation of the song rather than singing techniques and voice.
Later, Central Conservatory of Music also granted a honorary professor title to her.
Jessye Norman enjoys a very high position in the American operatic circle. Her charming and powerful singing won her the 48th Grammy's Lifetime Achievement Award and three Grammys for Best Opera.
Her upcoming concert covers musical works of history's top musicians, including Verdi and Mozart, but it won't include the pieces from Wagner she is best known for.
