Kucha Mosque, Kucha |
|
The second largest mosque in Xinjiang, the Kucha Mosque is located on the east side of Kucha County. It is believed to have been built by Isaq Wali, founder of the Yichan sect, after he trekked from Kashi to Kucha to preach his doctrines. The mosque was rebuilt and expanded twice, first during the latter years of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), and again in the 1930s. |
