An international education service agency in China conducted an investigation recently, finding that there are more than 20 hot educational destinations for Chinese students, the US, Australia, Britain, South Korea and Russia being the top ones.
The US has been the favorite educational destination of Chinese students for years, especially after it loosed restrictions on visas in 2005. Statistics show that in 2006, the number of students who wanted to study in the US increased greatly compared with 2005.
Australia hit top-2 in the investigation, while it ranked only 4th in a similar investigation in 2006. There are quite a large number of courses and training programs that will help Chinese students find good jobs back home, like TAFE, no wonder it has become more and more popular among them.
Britain also loosed its control over study visas in 2006, and students will be able to get a 1- or 2-year work visa after graduation. That well explains why it is one of the most popular educational destinations in the world.
Many other Asian countries are also good choices, particularly South Korea and Japan. The cultural exchange programs between China and South Korea in 2006 helped Chinese gain a better understanding of this country, and caused intention of studying in South Korea to rise. Japanese colleges have many favoring policies for international students, which attract many Chinese to pursue further studies in Japan.
Russia and Ukraine are two new faces on the list. It is said that there are so many Chinese students in some colleges in the two countries, that they have to limit their enrollment in 2007. In fact, East European countries are famous for good education quality but low tuitions, and Russia and Ukraine are among the best of them.
