Adjust font size:

An online career service was launched on Friday by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) to help Chinese returning from overseas to find better jobs.

"Overseas Chinese students can now search for job opportunities on our website and access the video-based recruitment online," said Shao Wei, deputy director of CSCSE under the Chinese Ministry of Education.

"The move is to improve the current situation as many overseas returned Chinese can not find jobs," Wei Zuyu, a veteran expert with the CSCSE said.

China has an increasing number of students returning home after study overseas. The number of returned students increased to 42,000 in 2006 from 25,000 in 2004.

However, Wei said, quite a number can not find jobs due to the lack of information and guidance.

"What is important is that overseas returned personnel with knowledge from abroad will help China better compete on the world stage," Wei said.
