According to Information Times, college students in Guangzhou intend to choose partners in marriage through the help of matchmaking agencies. Experts point out that these students hope to look for partners that earn high salaries.
Cao Guotang, associate professor of the Psychology Department of Guangzhou University, revealed that most college students in Guangzhou intend to look for partners early, but they often fail to keep a long partnership.
Currently more and more students are influenced by western lifestyle and want to hunt for wealthy partners in order to enjoy good life quality rather than to find true love. Wu Peiling, manager of Guangzhou Youth Matchmaking Agency, said that in 2006 more students than ever before came to seek their help. But she also pointed out that these students hope to find rich marriage partners.
A survey launched among students in 12 colleges and universities shows that more than 30% of respondents think dating while studying in college may affect their studies, but 53.2% of them also reveal that they will go dating if they find appropriate partners.
