The Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau will recruit 1,600 of this year's college graduates, with 10 percent among them female.
Beijing Personnel Bureau said the recruitment started on Monday. This year's college graduates earning bachelor's or higher degrees from universities in Beijing or students registered as Beijing residents who study outside the city can apply to take the recruitment test.
This year's junior college male graduates who study both in and outside of Beijing can also apply.
The Beijing Times reported only test takers who have passed the written examination of the Beijing civil servant exam in advance are eligible to take the test. Non-Beijing residents must meet the conditions to be eligible to apply to become a permanent Beijing resident in order to take the test.
Bachelor's degree-holders should be under 25. For people with master's degrees or above, the age restriction is extended to 30. Preference will be given to Chinese Communist Party members and student cadres.
Each student can only apply to one department. The registration deadline is 5 PM on Friday.
After passing the interview, a physical check-up and fitness test, as well as psychological tests, students can take the written exam slated in May.
