Secretary of CPC Hainan Provincial Committee
Wang Xiaofeng, a native from Hunan Province's Cili County, was born in October 1944. With a college education, he began work in September 1969. Wang joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1973.
1964-1969: Wang studied in the Machinery Department at the Beijing Mineral Institute.
1970-1980: Technician for the Second Workshop of the Changde 71 Machinery Factory in Hunan, deputy chief and chief of the factory's Administrative Office.
1980-1983: Deputy factory manager and manager.
1983-1986: Commissioner of Changde Prefecture and deputy secretary of the prefectural Party committee.
1986-1990: Director of Hunan Provincial Planning Commission.
1988-1990: Part-time professor for the Hunan Institute of Finance and Trade.
1990-1993: Vice governor of Hunan Province.
Jan.1993: Deputy secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee.
Feb. 1993: He was elected as executive vice governor at the first session of the first Hainan People's Congress.
Jul. 1993: Deputy secretary of the second CPC Hainan Provincial Committee.
Sep. 1993: Head of the fourth Hainan Provincial Entrepreneurs Association.
Feb. 1998: Deputy secretary of the third CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, and acting governor of Hainan.
Apr. 1998: He was elected as governor at the first session of the second Hainan People's Congress.
Jan. 2003: Wang was re-elected as governor of Hainan at the first session of the third Hainan People's Congress. Apr. 20, 2003: He was appointed secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee.
Oct. 2003: Wang resigned his post as governor of Hainan.
Wang was an alternate member of the 14th and 15th CPC Central Committee. He is currently serving as a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee.
