governor of Shaanxi Province

Chen Deming, a native of Shanghai, was born in 1949. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1974.

He holds a doctorate degree in management. He has held leading Party posts in Jiangsu Province and Suzhou City.

Chen is a member of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial CPC Committee and formerly served as vice governor, deputy secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial CPC Committee and acting governor.

He was a delegate to the 16th CPC National Congress and a deputy to the Ninth and Tenth National People's Congress.

He was elected governor of Shaanxi Province on February 5, 2005.
