The presidium of the on-going Fifth Session of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC) held its third meeting Wednesday.
Presided over by Li Peng, executive chairman of the presidium, the meeting passed a draft resolution on the work report of the Ninth NPC Standing Committee and passed in principle two draft resolutions on the work reports of the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
The draft resolutions will be distributed among NPC deputies for examination before being submitted to the full session for adoption.
The meeting also passed one draft decision on the quota and election of deputies to the Tenth NPC, and two draft rules on electing the Tenth NPC deputies from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions. The draft decision and rules will be put to vote at the full session.
The presidium also heard and passed a report on the motions raised by NPC deputies, which was delivered by He Chunlin, secretary-general of the NPC Standing Committee.
He said the Fifth Session of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC) received 1,194 motions as at 6:00 p.m. on March 10,the deadline for submitting motions.
Some motions will be put into legislative agenda and the others will be transferred to related departments and organizations for further study, He said.
