China's top legislature announced Monday it will complete its task of formulating and revising relevant laws within the final year of its term of office, building the framework of the country's Socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics.
Addressing the press conference Monday for the coming Fifth Session of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC), Zeng Jianhui, spokesman for the session, said NPC deputies will review every proposal put before them and exercise, on behalf of the people, the right to manage state affairs as masters of the country.
Zeng described that as an important expression of China's socialist democracy.
The fifth session is to open Tuesday and conclude on March 15.
