A primary school principal in southwest China has been dismissed over a food poisoning incident in late September that affected 92 pupils and hospitalized 23 of them.
Lin Zhaobin, head of the Pengdian Central Primary School in the Cangxi County of Sichuan, was removed from his post for lax supervision on the sanitation of the school's cafeteria, said the Cangxi county government.
Peng Qiangxian, head of the cafeteria, was sacked and also removed from the post of director of the school's general equipment office.
Some employees of the cafeteria were also fired and several officials with the county's education and health bureaus were punished.
