Chinese Middle and Primary Schools

Chinese middle and primary schools can receive international students of proper school age. The schools are usually open to international students whose parents are resident in China, while international students whose parents are not resident in China must be officially entrusted by their parents to foreigners resident in China or Chinese as guardians.

 

The handling of entrust procedures: letters of authorization should be notarized and certified by countries of international students and Chinese embassies and consulates, if the entrust procedures are conducted out of China; letters of authorization can be notarized either by Chinese notary agencies or embassies and consulates of international students, countries in China, if the entrust procedures are conducted in China.

 

Foreign middle and primary school students can come to study in China on shot-term (within six months) group programs, but the accepting school and the sending side should sign an agreement in advance. The sending side should go through legal procedures necessary for organizing minors to go abroad according to laws and regulations of its own country.

 

When foreign middle and primary school students come to and leave China in organized groups, the sending side should dispatch a representative to China with the students and to serve as their guardian in China.

 

International students usually live together with parents or guardians, or live in dormitories of the school.

 

International students usually have lessons together with their Chinese counterparts, except when they need additional training in Chinese.

 

International students are granted diplomas by the accepting school after they finish all courses and pass examinations; those who fail to finish all courses as planned are given true-to-fact schooling credentials by the school. And those who finish all courses are given true-to-fact schooling credentials by the school.
