The State Council has appointed two new vice ministerial officials in science and social science sectors.

Cao Jianlin, born in 1955, replaces Ma Songde as vice minister of science and technology.

Cao was formerly vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Wu Yin, 56, has been appointed vice president of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, replacing Jiang Lansheng.
