The death toll from the traffic accident in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has now risen to 14, after doctors failed to save a severely injured patient, sources with the local government reported on Wednesday.
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 9 AM on Tuesday. A bus traveling from Zunyi, Guizhou Province to Dongguan, Guangdong Province with 55 passengers on board collided head on with a truck coming in the opposite direction from Cenxi, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Forty-seven people still remain in a local hospital. The regional government has organized a team to investigate the accident.
A passing motorcyclist reported that the collision also affected him.
Further investigations are underway.
