Three drug dealers, including one from the Taiwan Island, were executed in southeast China's Fujian Province on Monday.

Taiwan drug dealer Shih Jin-fan and his accomplice Pan Wun-zong, also from Taiwan, were convicted of attempting to smuggle 1,519 grams of heroin and 9,562 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, a stimulant commonly known as "ice," from Fujian to Taiwan on Feb. 17 last year, said Xia Dongying, vice president of the Fujian Provincial Higher People's Court.

Shih escaped, but was captured on March 19.

The death sentence was handed down on July 10 at first instance and upheld on Nov. 25 at second and also on last instance, Xia said.

Pan also got death penalty, but he was given a two-year reprieve, meaning his sentence could be commuted to life imprisonment if he shows good behavior.

Another drug smuggler Chen Bin was convicted of selling 795.45 grams of heroin to drug dealers and addicts on 191 occasions in Fujian's Yong'an and Sanming between 2001 and June 2005, Xia said. Chen's death sentence was handed down in early this year.

But the judge did not give details about the case of the other drug dealer Du Shaohui.

Since the "People's War" against drugs was launched in Fujian in April 2005, 2,701 suspects involved in 1,912 cases have been investigated and tried in the province, 2,249 of whom have been sentenced to imprisonment, including life terms, or death, Xia said.
