Shenzhen to Launch First Metro Weekly Pass
Adjust font size:

Shenzhen Metro Company will start selling China's first weekly subway pass on April 26. The pass will offer holders unlimited rides for one week.

The company manages the subway system in the city of Shenzhen in south China. It hopes the weekly pass will prevent huge queues from forming at ticket counters during the upcoming May Day holiday.

A sudden upsurge of subway passengers is expected during the annual week-long holiday, which starts on May 1.

A total of 15,000 weekly passes will be available for 50 yuan (US$6.47) each.
