Police in east China's Anhui Province have seized counterfeit bills worth 6.45 million yuan, or about US$827,000.

Police in Jieshou saw two women around 40 years old who looked flustered as they unloaded three bags from a taxi and placed them in another car.

They discovered the bags were stuffed with counterfeit 50 yuan and 100 yuan bills.

The two women said the fake bills were transported from Shenzhen in south China's Guangdong Province.
The investigation is continuing.
