Bomb Explodes in Hospital in Xinjiang

A bomb exploded on Friday in a children's hospital in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, but no fatalities have been reported.

The blast occurred at 3:00 PM at the gate of a branch of the Children's Hospital under the No. 1 People's Hospital in north Urumqi.

Two persons were injured by shattering glass at the gate but no deaths have been reported and the hospital is operating as normal, police said.

Police believe the blast was caused by a man-made bomb and are investigating who was responsible.
