A Chinese man who allegedly killed six people and seriously injured two others was captured on Thursday by police in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Dong Wenyu, 28, was arrested by patrolling police early Thursday at Xiangbi Town of Yibin City, according to the Yibin Public Security Bureau.
He suffered a slight leg injury while jumping from a two-storey building in an attempt to escape the police, said the bureau, adding that police had taken him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Dong admitted his crimes to police.
Between March and May this year, five cases of robbery and murder occurred in Jinhua City of Zhejiang Province, Fuding City of Fujian Province and Shangrao City of Jiangxi Province, leaving six people dead and two seriously injured.
Police suspect the five cases can all be attributed to Dong, a native of Zhejiang. In July, Dong was put on a Class A wanted list by the Ministry of Public Security.
