Heavy fog has blanketed northeast China's Liaoning Province since Sunday, disrupting flights and forcing some expressways to close.

An official with the provincial communications bureau said Monday that the expressways around Shenyang and the Shenyang-Fushun and Shenyang-Dandong expressways were closed.

Staff at the northeast air traffic control center said that although Taoxian airport was not yet to close, several flights were delayed.
