China's State Nuclear Power Technology Co., which was inaugurated on Tuesday, is already cementing a deal with Westinghouse Electric Co. to introduce third-generation nuclear power technology to China, the company's president, Wang Binghua, revealed Tuesday, adding that an agreement would be signed next month.
The two companies originally brokered a framework contract on March 1, which outlined that Westinghouse would four third-generation pressurized water reactors in two Chinese cities: Sanmen City in Zhejiang Province, and Haiyang City in Shandong Province.
This move fits in with the State Nuclear Power Technology Co' s remit which is to develop China's third-generation nuclear power technologies.
