Adjust font size:  ZoomIn ZoomOut

Chinese shares plummeted on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closing at 3,449.02 points, down 163.38 points, or 4.52 percent from the previous close.

The plunge came with concerns of possible interest rate hike following the gross domestic growth (GDP) report due to be released Thursday afternoon.
