China's telecommunications equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. on Monday revealed a new logo which it hopes will bring the company success in the international market.
The new logo is the same black and red color but there are slight stylistic changes.
"Maintaining the original style of youthfulness and an enterprising spirit, the new logo reflects Huawei's principles of customer focus, innovation, steady and sustainable growth and harmony," said a company press release.
"During such a crucial period for global telecoms transformation, changing our logo demonstrates our readiness and capability to take future opportunities and challenges," said Xu Zhijun, chief marketing officer of Huawei.
As China's largest telecoms equipment manufacturer, Huawei started to sell its products to overseas markets in the 1990s. In the first half of 2005, the company reported overseas sales of US$2.47 billion, accounting for 61 percent of its global sales in the period.
Huawei has to march into developed countries if it wants to make greater progress in the international market, said Zhang Hongshi, analyst with prestigious Qinghua University. He predicted that following the adoption of the new logo, Huawei would launch anew round of development in the overseas market.
