China will publish its first car safety evaluation on July 1. The evaluation mainly focuses on the quality of cars drivers' safety protection.
Private buying has become the main form of car consumption in China, and the public's awareness of car safety issues have been enhanced. The new evaluation includes tests on a vehicle's ability to withstand a collision.
The Director of the China Car Research Center, Zhao Hang, says automobile manufacturers will be able to improve their cars and consumers select their cars, according to the evaluation results.
