As of 2:00 p.m. Friday Chinese political advisors presented 4,516 proposals at their annual full session, said Zhang Yi, deputy head of a working group in charge of collecting the proposals.
Most proposals focus on the issues of concern of the public, such as modern agriculture, technological innovation, health care reform, environmental protection and income gap, Zhang said. On the whole, 45 percent of the proposals are related to economic issues.
The political advisors are attending the Fifth Session of the Tenth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
Friday is the last day for the CPPCC National Committee members to submit proposals.
The country's top advisory body received 5,030 proposals at the annual session last year. However, the quality of the proposals has improved this year, said Zhang.
