Chinese President Hu Jintao on Wednesday sent a condolence message to Indian President Abdul Kalam over the serial train blasts in Mumbai that killed more than 170 people.
On behalf of the Chinese government and people, and in his personal capacity, Hu conveyed his condolences to the victims and their families, as well as to President Kalam, the Indian people and government.
Hu said the Chinese government strongly condemned the reported terrorist bomb attacks that hit commuter trains in India's financial capital Mumbai during the evening rush hour on Tuesday.
He also said the Chinese government stood firmly against terrorism of any form and was willing to work with the international community, including India, to fight terrorism and safeguard regional and world peace and stability.
Premier Wen Jiabao has also sent a condolence message to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
