American Dominique Arnold finished second in a time of 12.90 seconds, while his compatriot Terrence Trammell came in third in 13.02 seconds.

In other events, former double Olympics sprint champion Marion Jones from the US produced her second sub-11 seconds 100m race in three days with a 10.94 seconds win.

She was followed by American teammates Me'Lisa Barber and Torri Edwards, who finished at a time of 11.03 seconds and 11.07 seconds respectively.

Leonard Scott led from the front to win the men's 100m race in 10.05 seconds.

Olusoji Fasuba of Nigeria came in second in 10.09 seconds, and Michael Frater of Jamaica clocked 10.09 seconds for third place.
