The Third French Film Panorama, co-sponsored by Unifrance, the French Embassy and the French Cultural Center, will be held in China from February 9 to 14.
The theme of this year's film panorama is "Promote French Film in China", according to French Ambassador to China Philippe Guelluy, who was speaking at a press conference at the New Century Film City yesterday.
A selection of 12 recently released French films, including
L'Enfant or
The Child, the Palme d'Or winner at Cannes 2005, will be screened. French film buffs will be treated to a range of movie genres including action, comedy, children's stories and drama.
The Panorama will also include a selection of Chinese films that will be screened at the end of February, according to Christine Pernin, Unifrance's China representative.
Film tickets will be reasonably priced. Directors and actors will also be present to greet fans and to answer any questions that they might have. French actor Jean Reno is the president of this delegation. His latest film
The Empire of the Wolves will open the Panorama in Beijing on February 9.
After Beijing, the delegation will move on to Shanghai and Chengdu to meet with their Chinese fans. The closing ceremony of the Panorama will be held in Shanghai on February 14.
All the films will be shown in French with Chinese subtitles.
