All seven miners who were trapped in a coalmine when it caved-in in northeast China's Liaoning Province on February 18 were rescued early on Tuesday.

 

They were immediately admitted to a local hospital for medical examination, an official in charge of the rescue operation told Xinhua.

 

The Aiyou Coal Mine, affiliated to Fuxin Mining Group Co. Ltd in Liaoning Province, caved-in at about 7:45 PM on February 18, trapping seven miners who were working underground at the time.

 

Rescuers dug a separate tunnel 29 meters long and installed it with a conveyor belt to get to the miners. The miners were rescued at about 3:50 AM on Tuesday.

 

Investigations into the cause of the accident are underway.
