Asia-Pacific countries should beef up regional cooperation and make concerted efforts to improve their infrastructure development, said Cui Tiankai in Jakarta on Monday.

Cui, who is Assistant Foreign Minister and leader of the Chinese delegation, made the statement at the Combined Opening Session of the Ministerial Segment of the 62nd Session of the United Nations Economy and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

Work could be done in four ways, which includes dialogue enhancement and experience exchange, platform establishment and cooperation between government and enterprise, channels development and income rise, as well as policy coordination and network connection, Cui said.

In addition, he introduced China's 11th Five-Year Guidelines for national economy and social development, which features science, harmony and coordination, as well as further improvement of quality of life, and the expansion of international cooperation opportunities.

While improving its own development, China pursues mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, and strives for global and regional cooperation in order to realize the common prosperity of all countries.

The key topic for the 62nd Session of UNESCAP (April 6-12) is "Enhancing Cooperation in Infrastructure Development, including that Related with Disaster Management".

The session is being attended by 600 delegates from 62 Asia-Pacific countries.
