Adjust font size:
The photo shows a flooded field of bananas in Pubei County, Qinzhou City, southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, June 28. Heavy rains in Guangxi caused floods, and destroyed houses and crops.

Besides, flood, landslide and mudslide disaster alerts are in effect for most areas in the Huaihe River valley, for torrential rains are forecast for the areas from June 29 to July 1.

The affected areas are east China's Anhui and Jiangsu provinces, central China's Henan and Hubei provinces, according to the Central Meteorological Station.

Parts of the above-mentioned areas will see thunder storms accompanied by gale-force winds or hail due to the interaction between strong, warm air flows from the southwest and cold air currents, the forecast shows.

Local governments in these areas are advised to make full preparations.
