The first new and high-tech park in northwest China's Qinghai Province will soon be built at Ganhe Beach in Xining, capital city of Qinghai.
Experts have examined and approved the blueprint of the park and early preparations are underway, local official sources said recently.
The park will be built by the West China Mineral Co. Ltd., the largest non-ferrous metal firm in western China, which has had sub-branches in Qinghai, Gansu and Sichuan provinces.
As the largest new and high-tech park on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the park covers 186 hectares of land 32 kilometers to the west of Xining.
Currently, an electrolytic aluminum plant with an annual output of 20,000 tons, a Sino-ROK lead refinery and a zinc oxide plant are being built in the park. When the high-tech park starts full operation, it is expected to bring in 1 billion yuan of sales income and 150 million yuan of profits a year.
