The medical detachment of the Chinese People's Liberation Army
(PLA) Navy recently held a seven-day exercise under the complicated
circumstances of a maritime battlefield, sources with the navy said
Tuesday.
It was the first offshore maneuver conducted by the PLA Navy's
medical detachment which has been founded on the basis of two
medical teams belonging to the General Hospital of the PLA
Navy.
During the exercise, medical rescuers carried out activities
such as sorting out the injured, sending the injured back to rear
areas, surgical operations, remote diagnosis, and treatment of
injuries marinated by sea water.
The medical detachment is equipped with advanced technology and
equipment including remote medical diagnosis system, GPS, and
combined medical equipment.
