Shanghai public transport transfer window to be extended
Adjust font size:

The transfer window between buses and Metro lines in Shanghai will be extended to three hours from 90 minutes starting late this year, Oriental Morning Post reported today.

Many commuters have complained that the interval of 90 minutes was too short especially during rush hours, the report said.

The city's traffic authority said on its Website that it will extend the interval to three hours in the second half of this year and the discounted ticket system for people transferring will cover all traffic lines, according to the report.

An average of 903,000 commuters have benefitted from the discount every day since it was introduced last year.

But the system still only benefits public transport card holders, the report said.
