A landslide has killed four villagers and injured two others in
southwest China's Yunnan Province, local authorities said
Friday.
The accident took place early Thursday morning at a village in
Honghe County, Hani-Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Honghe. After hours
of rescue effort, six people were found including four deaths, said
a spokesman with the civil affairs bureau of the prefecture.
The landslide was caused by continuous rain that began on Oct.
5, he said.
The local government is investigating the landslide and
evacuating people in villages that might be threatened by other
landslides, he added.
